Why I do what I do? by Jennifer Rodriguez

First, I am a Christian. Second, I am a wife. Third, I am a homeschooling mom. Fourth, I earn through an online business through the comforts of our home. Highlight: comforts.

Why I do what I do? Sometime in 2015, after several and long discussions (sometimes fight) with my husband, I decided that I don't want to spend my time working for a company everyday 9am-5:30pm EST and even pouring more hours as needed. I was getting sick with all the pressure plus I didn't have time for my family. I just was not happy anymore. Was it an easy decision? No, but it was worth it. I want to be intentional in spending my time with the things and people that matter to me the most.

My point: numbers 1-4 are my priorities. Nobody messes my priorities. I am done thinking about them in 2015 and even years before that. I had a well-paying job and a good position in a company. I am thankful for those experiences and to my bosses who trusted me to work for them. After my 9-6 job, I did become a Virtual Professional working with an amazing boss based in the US but I later on decided that online entrepreneurship is the way to go.

Why I am saying all these? If you want our relationship to work, respect my priorities. I know I can do more things to earn more. I know there are million of ways to earn online, going out to meet clients, etc. But let me tell you this - if we don't have an employment contract, do not push me to do things as if I am getting my salary or my livelihood from you. I am done with all these things - my corporate job and my VA stint. I already left it years ago. Fought so hard for this day to come. No one can entice me to exchange my time with my kid, her education, my husband, my health to earn more bucks. No one can tell me that I am not good managing my time because years ago I managed several teams and projects. No one.

Why I do what I do now? Because I know my priorities. Try messing it and we are totally done.
